Den Den Mushi is one of the most popular communication tool in the manga One Piece.  It is an electric transmission bug features snails with phones or fax machines on their shells.  The snails communicate through radio waves.  When someone speaks through a Den Den Mushi, the snail will mouth the person’s speech and emotions.

This yellow Den Den Mushi seems like a Visual Den Den Mushi, also known as Surveillance Den Den Mushi.  Its function is to broadcasts whatever it sees to a bigger video screen.  But you might be disappointed if you continue to read.  The Visual Den Den Mushi is not a real one.  It is just a measuring tape.  The Den Den Mushi Measure (Kuma version) can measures up to a maximum of 80 cm.  The size of the measure is 5.5 cm x 3.6 cm x 7.6 cm.  The price for the cute Kuma version tape measure is $14.

The Visual Den Den Mushi (映像電伝虫, Eizō Den-den Mushi?) is similar to the Surveillance Den Den Mushi, and it broadcasts what the Den Den Mushi sees to a bigger video screen. The smaller Den Den Mushi (which seems to be larger than the Surveillance variation) are used as the cameras, while the larger ones are linked to the screens to receive the signals. These visual versions seem to be able to broadcast their frequencies between two relatively close islands.
